Ja Morant’s Suspension from the Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis Grizzlies superstar guard, Ja Morant has been benched for what has been said to be an “indefinite” amount of time after posting a video on Instagram Live of himself in a strip club brandishing a gun. Earlier reports indicated that the Grizzlies had given Morant a two-game suspension. However, it now appears that there is “no timetable” as to when he will be suiting back up for the Grizzlies, who are currently ranked second in the NBA’s Western Conference as the regular season begins to wind down, and the playoffs are on the horizon.
To his credit, Ja has expressed remorse for his actions, accepting responsibility for what took place and apologizing to his team, family, Grizzlies fans, and the city of Memphis. But the question that has been on the lips of everyone who has spoken about the incident, from sports analysts to commenters on social media, has been some form of “dude, why?”
