Poetry and commentary about place of origin and relocation during a period of intensified racial aggression
Earlier this week, I revised a poem I wrote called “Migration Patterns,” which, upon my initial writing of it, was inspired by my move from South Louisiana to Prince George’s County, Maryland. For those of you who have been following this platform or my social media pages, you know that I am now back in South Louisiana (New Orleans), and a part of me settling back into my homeland is my getting reacclimated to the social dynamics and smash-mouthed oppression of the Deep South.
